Photography Workshop at Bradgate Park
25th October 2025 - 0 comments
Bradgate Park has been a very special venue for me as I was not only looking at that customers are comfortable with their camera and its settings but also keeping a close eye on the animals and their actions plus the related photo opportunities, and also looking out for my customers' safety. The feedback, I have received from photography workshop participants at Bradgate Park has been generally very positive, including on the workshop earlier this month.

Nevertheless, I have now taken the decision not to continue with my Deer Rut Photography workshops at Bradgate Park. This is with huge regret but it is based on getting the right balance between the costs and the pricing while maintaining the standard of quality for the photography workshops(small groups and exploring the park before the day).

New - Online Photography Tuition and Support
10th January 2021 - 0 comments
Due to COVID-19 there have been many restriction in what we are allowed to do and who we are allowed to meet. However, the currnt situation created also opportunities for things, you may have intended to do for some time but have never got around to do. For example you may have a great digital SLRcamera, which you use only occasionally and only on automatic, or you did not have the chance to dedicate time to photography for some years and would like to start this hobby again.

Taking your camera out on the daily exercise walks in your neighbourhood is a great opportunity to practise photography, and there is now online photography tuition available to learn how to get off the automatic settings and/or how to improve your photography skills. Big Cat & Nature Photography has just launched its Online Photography Tuition and Support Session programme to get people started and help enhancing their photographic knowledge via a video link (in a COVID-19 safe way).

In consideration of the ever growing human population and the rapidly increasing speed the number of people on planet Earth grows, we would like to draw your attention to our impact on other species. This is not something new and has been said many times before. This is however a subject, which still does not seem to be fully understood in its complexity yet.

The 21st of March is the International Day of Forests. The UN introduced this day in 2013 in order to raise awareness of sustainable management/development and conservation of the world's forest areas. About Palm Oil
14th February 2018 - 0 comments
One of the greatest threats to tigers and wildlife in general is habitat loss. Due to an ever-increasing human population this is a problem all around the world. Some areas are however impacted harder than others. Although these areas are in countries outside the UK, it is something in our day-to-day life here that causes the rapid loss of habitat for Sumatran tigers, orangutans, and other wildlife species that live on the Island of Sumatra and in the south of Malaysia. It is Palm Oil that has led to a rapid deforestation in these areas.

Volunteering in South Africa
29th August 2011 - 0 comments
Two of the wildlife conservation projects Big Cat Photography supports, provide the opportunity to volunteer and provide financial and physical support this way. As we believe that both, the wildlife conservation projects and also the volunteers benefit from not having to go through an agency (acting more or less only as a travel agency; making the arrangements and taking a share of the fees), we will advertise projects, we support for free via our web page.
