Talks
We offer a wide range of talks, related to the Big Cats, their conservation, other wildlife and photography. The talks are available at your groups' venues or online (via a Zoom connection; we can host events with up to 99 participants).
The talk programme includes currently the following topics:
Big Cats Around The Globe
This popular talk will take the audience on a journey around the globe, exploring what are big cats, where do they live, what are their situations and problems in their natural habitat as well as what conservation efforts are out there to help them in their fight against extinction.

Snow Leopard (Highland Wildlife Park)
On Safari in South Africa
This talk will take the audience on a journey to the Greater Krüger National Park and other game reserves in South Africa. Barbara's work has taken her to various destinations in South Africa and through this she has learnt much about the wildlife, safaris and also how the tourism may support the wildlife, but also what negative impact it may have on wildlife.

Painted Dog (Krüger National Park, South Africa)
Wildlife in Sherwood Forest
The talk about the ‘Wildlife in Sherwood Forest’ will cover what wildlife species Barbara has been able to record during her trail camera surveys in England’s most famous forest, their distribution and some seasonal events plus observations, made in view of the animals’ behaviour in connection with our and/or other species presence.

Red Fox Cub (Sherwood Forest)
Wildlife in East Anglia
This talk is based on my photography at different nature reserves across mainly Suffolk and Norfolk but also in some surrounding counties. There will be also some footage from trail cameras, I had out in the wider Sherwood Forest area as this covers species I was not able to photograph here although I know these are present in East Anglia. The trail camera film clips include observations about animals, which I did not expect but again may very well happen in East Amglia as well.

Hare in Barley Field
Seals in Lincolnshire and Norfolk
Since 2019 Barbara has researched the situation around seals along some parts of the east coast in England for articles, she published in regional and also one national magazine. This talk covers the seal subspecies in Lincolnshire and Norfolk, difference between those subspecies as well as some challenges the seals face due to people visiting breeding colonies and things, some people do when visiting the seal's natural habitat. And of course the talk will cover efforts to help these marine wildlife species to survive.

Grey Seal with pup (Donna Nook, Lincolnshire)
Wildlife Conservation - Different Approaches To Help Endangered Species
Barbara has supported wildlife conservation for almost 15 years, and has visited South Africa in 2011 to explore different approaches to wildlife conservation. This talk will provide an overview of different approaches and why they are needed or respectively why some of them cannot necessarily be seen as conservation.

African Lion (Timbavati Reserve, South Africa)
Wildlife Photography And Its Role In Conservation
Through natural history documentary films and also through articles in wildlife magazines we are aware that photography is important in view of raising awareness for wildlife and their situation in the wild. Barbara’s talk on wildlife photography will tell you about the role photography has in conservation and how she uses her photography to help the Big Cats and also British wildlife.

Bird Observatory (Gibraltar Point)
Focusing On Wildlife
This talk will provide the audience with an insight into how Barbara got into wildlife photography and the objectives of her photography. Focusing on wildlife goes for Barbara beyond aiming the camera at wildlife and getting a sharp and interesting image. For Barbara photography is about the subjects. With this talk she shares her approach plus advice on keeping it safe; for the animals but also for photographers.

Amur Leopard Cub - Anya (Colchester Zoological Society)
Stories Behind Photos
Taking photos of wildlife is not like taking photos of buildings, landscapes or even of people. In this talk Barbara shares some of the challenges and memorable moments she experienced while taking photos of big cats and other wildlife species, which will provide an insight into her approach to wildlife photography.

Elephant in Camp (South Africa)
All of our talks are available at your venue (Barbara will provide the talk in person, where your group meets) or alternativly via an online meeting (with your members joining via their laptop / computer).
The price for talks up to 1-hour is £85 or respectively £65 for online talks. Talks can be arranged for longer durations (£15 per additional hour; £10 for an additional half-an-hour). Travel expenses will be inclusive of the fee for venues within a 40 miles radius of my base. For venues within a 40-65 miles radius I will apply a £20 contribution to my travel expenses.
