Photography Experiences

African Lion - Bailey (Colchester Zoo)
Big Cat & Nature Photography offers a wide range of photography experiences. Our photography event programme provides our customers with the opportunity to photograph Big Cats at zoos and non-public wild cat collections (Colchester Zoo, Linton Zoo and the Rutland Wildlife Sanctuary) as well as British Wildlife in its natural habitat (at Bradgate Park, Donna Nook, Norfolk)
All of our Photography Workshops and Photo Days are open to any experience level. Through
- Limiting the participant numbers to a maximum of 4 photographers,
- Offering each participant the option to have an individual online photography tuition session prior to the photography experience,
- Providing advice on any photographic aspects and support with the camera settings throughout the event

Amur Leopard - Crispin (Colchester Zoo)
We have offered photography workshops for children at Colchester Zoo for some years now and will of course continue this in the future. Since 2022, we have separate photography experiences for children aged 6 to 9 years, Zoo Photography for Junior Explorers and teenagers, aged 10 to 15 years, Wildlife Photography for Teenagers. Furthermore, we are providing a Seal Photography for Children workshop in Norfolk.

Grey Seal Pups (Norfolk)
As our venues are quite different, access to the animals vary from taking photos from general public areas (learning how best to approach taking photos at zoos and wildlife park) and to being directly in wildlife habitat areas (learning how to safely approach taking photos of deer and seals and how to capture wildlife activities). Our photography experiences are not only about taking photos of the wildlife on the day, but to learn about basic and more advanced photography aspects and to gain knowledge that enables participants to take photos at other venues (zoos, wildlife park and natural habitat areas); including when being on safari or on other wildlife tours.
