Wildlife Vets International

This portfolio includes images, which I offered as part of my Fundraising for Wildlife Vets International at Colchester Zoo in July 2024 (plus some photos, which I have taken more recently). You can buy these images of the animals at the Colchester Zoological Society in form of mounted photoprints via this portfolio. Through selling these images via the web page, I hope that I will be able to continue my fundraising for the vital veterinary work that is done by Wildlife Vets International to support the conservation of tigers and leopards (As on my fundraising stalls, which I had at Colchester Zoo, the images on offer are not only of big cats but also of some other species, which live at the zoo).

All profits
(at least 70%) will go to Wildlife Vets International to support the following projects:
The Wild Tiger Health Project
This is an online information hub for vets and conservation teams in any tiger range country.

Research in view of the Canine Distemper Virus in Wild Tigers and Leopards
CDV is a dog disease, which spread through feral dogs to tigers, leopards and other wildlife species. At least four tiger and three leopard subspecies, including the critically endangered Amur leopard are affected. WVI has worked with conservation groups in the wild and is looking into ways to support effective research to find a solution, which will help the tigers and leopards in the wild.

Development of a Field Blood Testing Kit to monitor tigers when anaesthetised
When an animal is anaesthetised in a vet hospital or a vet surgery, there are machines monitoring the blood parameters to keep the animal under the appropriate amount of medication. Due to their size and weight, these machines are not available to vets and conservation teams when working in natural habitat areas. Your donation will help to develop a field kit for this purpose.
