African Lions
According to today's definition (based on DNA), there are 3 lion subspecies, of which the Barbary lion is extinct in the wild. The images in this portfolio are a mixture of photos taken in South Africa and respectively in zoos and wildlife parks; mainly at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We have also a couple of images of white lions (taken at the Paradise Wildlife Park); please note these lions are not a separate species, but occur due to a genetic defect (lack of dark pigments).
All images can be bought as mounted prints, as low-resolution images for your personal use (screen saver or background photo) or as hi-resolution for commercial use, including marketing, and publications. Please contact us via info@bigcatphotography.co.uk if you have any questions.
